Little White Lies (Fr: Les petits mouchoirs) is a 2010 French
comedy drama written and directed by Guillaume Cannet. The story is about a group of friends in their 30s and 40s who gather to spend their annual seaside vacation together even though one of their close friends is lying in a Parisian hospital. Despite the relaxing environment characters can't escape from their problems. Almost all of them are dealing with some sort of difficulties during this summer getaway, mostly relationship problems. They are all hiding something, soothing each other's curiosity with little white lies. Tension gets crazy when osteopath Vincent confesses his intimate feelings for Max highly stressed successful restaurateur who owns the seaside cottages. Both of them are married with children.
The cast is wonderful (Marion Cotillard, Francois Cluzet, Benoit Magimel and others). Our favorite character is Marie played by Marion Cotillard who by the way is one of our favorite French actresses. The seaside is gorgeous and there are lots of fun moments even though the ending is really emotional.
This is the first movie we've seen directed by Guillaume Cannet and we really enjoyed it. Hope you will like it too.
