Bubble Series by Melvin Sokolsky

The most iconic fashion shoot by Melvin Sokolsky 'Bubble Series' was created for Harper's Bazaar 1963 spring collection. These surrealistic shots were inspired by The Garden of Earthly Delights and presents model Simone D'allencourt floating through Paris in a giant bubble. This might be one of my favorite photo shoots of all time! Creativity of the photographer and the sight of a beautiful, gorgeously dressed woman gracefully posing in the bubble with Paris in the background - there are so many things that are unique and fascinating about this photo shoot. It has to be mentioned that all these photos were created before Photoshop. The bubbles were actually hung from the crane in various locations of Paris. Isn't it amazing? It feels like the women in the bubbles are untouchable, magical creatures from the most fashionable planet in the world!
