Niko Pirosmani (Pirosmanashvili) was georgian primitivist painter.He was born in 1862 in Kakheti (east past of Georgia).
His parents - Aslan Pirosmanashvili and Tekle Toklikishvili were farmers.Niko moved to Tbilisi in 1870 with her sisters.In 1882 he opened a workshop with self-taught George Zaziashvili.In 1890 he worked as a railroad conductor.Niko was very poor and was working hard.The first book about Pirosmani was published in 1926.His exhibitions were in Paris (TheLouvre),Vienna,Tokyo,Kiev,Vilnius and e.t.Pirosmani is depicted on the one Georgian Lari bill.In 1972 the the movie ''Pirosmani'' directed by Giorgi Shengelaya won the Grand Prix at the Chicago Film Festival.Director Sergey Prajanov also shoot a short film about Pirosmani ''Arabesques on a Pirosmani Theme''.
